WorkBC – Students and Adult Learners
Provides financial support for eligible students, offering up to $7,500 toward education.
Can cover tuition, course materials, professional certifications, and sometimes living allowances depending on eligibility.
Requirements vary by individual circumstances (income, employment status, career goals).
Students work with a WorkBC Centre to determine eligibility and apply.
WorkBC – B.C. Employer Training Grant
Supports businesses in training employees and new hires.
Companies can recover up to 80% of training costs (up to $10,000 per person per year, max $300,000).

Support for workers injured on the job or in work-related training programs.
Covers tuition, course materials, and other training-related costs. Funding often requires an approved vocational rehabilitation plan.

Financing for Newcomers & Internationally Trained Professionals Windmill Microlending – Low-Interest Career Loans
Up to $15,000 (typical ~$11,000), fixed 6.45% interest, no processing fees.
Payments: interest-only while completing Career Success Plan (up to 2 years), then principal + interest for next 2–5 years.
Early repayment allowed.
Use for qualifying exams, courses, relocation, books, professional fees, living allowances (case-by-case). Not for business start-up or debt consolidation.

ISSofBC – Global Talent Loans
Assists internationally trained professionals returning to careers or starting new ones.
Low-interest loans with career support: planning, counseling, employment guidance, webinars, events, mentorship, networking.

Eligibility: BC residents (including remote areas), Permanent Residents, Citizens, or Refugees with post-secondary education outside Canada.

Employer Tuition Assistance / Professional Development Programs
Tuition reimbursement or educational stipends for relevant skills development.
Typically requires HR pre-approval; reimbursement occurs after course completion.
